MOTHERS, FATHERS, PROPHESY…

by | Dec 10, 2014 | Missions Articles

I ran across a sad statistic today.

Since Roe v Wade made legal abortion available in the US, adoption rates of infants have dropped.

Some say “of course they have – fewer babies are available for adoption, so the numbers go down….”, but I’m not so sure it works that way. Perhaps on spreadsheets, but not in the Spirit. To me, the declaration to adopt has always been a prophetic act. To fill out paperwork, to put money aside, to ask friends to help, to determine that our little family will become a little bigger – all of these things speak volumes in the spirit realm.

Doing these things says that all life is worth it. It says that if a baby is born, there are arms waiting for them. This increase in abortion/ decrease in adoption thing? It’s a little like the chicken and the egg. Maybe we need to break the cycle.

I challenge you….

Mothers and fathers, prophesy.

Declare the word of the Lord over the unborn in our nation.

You will be wanted.

You will have a home.

You will be a son or a daughter, not a casualty.

As much as it is up to us, let no one speak of unwanted children in our nation. Let the unwanted child become a myth, a memory, something that later generations will have a difficult time believing actually existed. Align your pocketbook, your schedule and your strength with your Godly convictions. Redeem your time and wealth – however meager it may be – for the sake of an eternal soul.

Perhaps adoption rates would skyrocket if more people like you and I said yes. Perhaps abortion rates would drop as well. Until more do things they’ve never done, we will continue to have what we’ve always had, or worse.

And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the land with a decree of utter destruction. Malachi 4:6 – Could it be that our abortion rates are a precursor of things to come if we fail to declare our allegiance with the unborn?

This is Zoe. Eight years ago they asked if we wanted her. Think about it. They had to ask.

This is only part of the goodness that comes with saying yes to life…but even if this were all there was, I would say it was worth it. Every dollar. Every sleepless night. Every worry. Life matters. Life is worth it.

Prophecy, moms and dads.

Make a holy ruckus that cannot be ignored. The future will be shaped by those like us.

Why is it Important to be Resilient?

The facts are only sometimes representative of reality, and there’s more to the story than we see. It’s powerful when we tune in to that compass bearing, look to God to help us create a complete picture of reality, and not just say, “Truth is whatever my sense is, but Lord, tell me the facts and the greater vantage point.”

Navigating the Pain of Change and Disappointment

That was the order we were given within minutes of discovering our residencies had been denied renewal. The city hall official was not hostile or aggressive, simply delivering orders. I responded that we would “absolutely not be leaving in thirty days.” She mentioned they would send a police officer to our door if we did not comply. I told her she could send the king; I still would not leave after thirty days. That was impossible!
