Jude Augusma is a Haitian born pastor and educator with over 20+ years of experience in international ministry. Pastor Augusma has devoted his life to the calling God has placed in his heart: To spread the gospel to the world, starting in his community. Growing up on the small island nation was difficult to put it mildly. Enduring the hardship of poverty, political upheaval, and disease made him question why God made this place his home. But God is good, and he is good all the time. God answered his doubts and prayers through blessings beyond his comprehension. By God’s grace, Pastor Augusma was led to the small fellowship of Philadelphia Church in the neighboring community of Fontaine. A single-room shed was being used as an all-purpose educational space. There, God gave Jude the opportunity to combine his loves of discipleship, preaching, and teaching. He started the first Christian school in Fontaine in 1997. This would later become Philadelphia Christian Ministries. In May 2005, out of concern for the safety of his family, Jude and his wife Rosiana Augusma moved their young family to Iowa, USA.
Jude has been blessed to be able to find work, provide for his family, and seek educational opportunities for himself, his wife, and 3 boys in the USA. Using his vacations and any spare resources available to him, Jude has traveled back to Haiti when possible. These trips back to his hometown have been used to voluntarily lead mission trips, oversee the growth of the school, act as school administrator, and provide discipleship and spiritual guidance to Philadelphia Church. With each blessing, God has reminded him of the importance of never forgetting where he came from. Through all of this, despite being thankful for God’s many blessings, the yearning of his heart has always been to return full time to Haiti and minister to his people there. Currently, Pastor Augusma resides in Des Moines, Iowa with his wife, Rosiana, and 3 boys Micah, Jayme, and Garly. As the boys finish high school and move on to University, Jude & Rosiana have begun the process of transitioning back to their hometown. Their goal is being able to focus all of their efforts on fulfilling the mission of Philadelphia Christian Ministries. Spreading the good news of the gospel to the community.
