Messiah’s Jubilee (Isaiah 61)

The Spirit of the Lord God is on me because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners to proclaim the year of JUBILEE, and the day of our God’s vengeance; to comfort all who mourn…Due to Covid-19, we took time to pray with our board and feel it best to postpone our move until June of 2020.However if the opportunity arises for us to move before then and we have God’s peace we will move sooner.

Who We Are

DANIEL + CARRLEIGH

Daniel has a biblical studies degree from DBU and I (Carrleigh) have a background in graphic design. We were both called to be in ministry at a young age. Until now, we have both worked in various fields as well as serving in various capacities at our local church. As a family, we value discipleship and living out the gospel’s freedom in front of others. We have been waiting for the “good work” that we felt like God set us apart for.In late Sep. 2019 God started moving our hearts to the harvest field and after conversations that only God could orchestrate we knew we were being called to go to Amsterdam. We know now all the singular seasons/events of life we’ve walked through were arranged for a greater purpose. We are excited about what God is going to do in the lives of the people of Amsterdam and are looking forward to being a part of it. We have 2 small children, Peter (3) and Molly (1). We ask that you keep all of us in your prayers as we make this big and exciting transition. Also, pray for the hearts of those we are going to work with and that they will be open to the Gospel and goodness of Jesus.

Daniel likes the outdoors and coffee darker than the Marianas Trench. Carrleigh speaks fluent movie quotes and likes the cream more than the coffee. Peter likes all things cars and dinosaurs. Molly likes eating raspberries by the container and snuggling with her baby dolls.

Why We Are GoingIt is highly likely that >99% of people living in Amsterdam will die and go to hell becausethey don’t know of God’s goodness or the true freedom he offers.

A survey from the year 2000 reports that 60% of the adult population of Amsterdam professed no affiliation with any church or other religion

The largest religion in Amsterdam is still Christianity (17%, of which Roman Catholics form the majority, with 10%)

Islam (currently 14%) is rapidly growing in popularity and is predicted to be the largest religious group within a few years.

HOW WE ARE REACHING THE COMMUNITYIn the post-Christian society that Amsterdam is, we aim to make meaningful connections and deep relationships. Our goal is to better the community by bettering the individual; because you love your neighbor well when you love yourself well.

Teaching

We will be teaching English and practical life skills such as budgeting and parenting classes.

Mentoring + Coaching

We will be mentoring “Street youth” and coaching adults as well as assisting parents and their special needs children

Discipleship

We believe that discipleship is best accomplished through community and intentional living.
