Hi! My name is Sandy Sandifer and I have been taking the love of Jesus into the dark and forgotten hearts of the Gypsies and the poorest of the poor scattered throughout globe for more than 10 years now – Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Turkey, Albania, Mexico and beyond!
Co-laboring with Global Celebration, God began taking me in 2002 to the dirt roads and dark alleys of the Bulgarian Gypsy neighborhoods for the first time. Ministering to the sweet Gypsies who received Christ with unrestrained passion, I discovered “a treasure in a field” (Matthew 13:44) … and sold all that I had to buy it. Between 2002 and 2005, I returned 5 times to continue joyously harvesting the treasures of souls for Jesus in that field!
In 2005 the Lord gave me a new directive: my heart aflame with the overmastering desire to leave everything behind, I embraced a new life spent in full-time Missionary work loving on the Gypsies and ministering the Gospel to the poor (Luke 4:18).
So in Aug of 2005, just 2 weeks before Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, Louisiana, I moved across the world – leaving children, grandchildren, mother, brothers, sisters all behind – all of them living in and around the New Orleans area. Jesus protected us all as I went out on my own and began a new life in Bulgaria among the desperately poor, joyfully beginning new ministry with new vision: new life in a new land, bringing Jesus’ Good News to the nations!
Jesus’ love and wisdom are made manifested in all that is done – and precious lives are awakened in Christ!
I’m still harvesting in that field and beyond, co-laboring with Jesus ministering a wide range of practical help and spiritual support for over a decade. Feeding programs in the winter months (when there is no work for the Gypsy people), preaching the Good News everywhere, pioneering new Gypsy villages in the Glorious Gospel, praying for the sick, restoring and building housing for the needy – the bliss list goes on and on! For the needs are vast and the laborers few.
