For the past 20 years, I have served in a variety of youth programs, including camps, homeless shelters, and residential treatment centers. I have worked with all ages, from birth through adulthood, but there has always been something especially meaningful to me about engaging in deeper conversations with teens and watching them grow in their faith during such a formative season of life.
I earned a Certificate of Theology and Biblical Studies from Liberty University, which deepened my understanding of discipleship, particularly in the areas of trauma, addiction, and mental health.
At Springboard, Teen Challenge’s residential treatment program for adolescent girls, I wear many hats, including leading the counseling department and overseeing program development and staff training. Over the past six years, I have worked to revamp the program, develop new curriculum, strengthen staff training and development, study neurotheology and spiritual formation, and build a more structured aftercare program.
My heart is to see quality behavioral health care and counseling resources made available to adolescent girls free of charge so this generation can grow into full maturity in Christ. I am committed to meeting the needs of the girls I serve and am seeking the support necessary to make that vision possible.
