Hello! We are Brad and Sarah missionaries in Madrid Spain.
In Spain the word “church” can paint all sorts of pictures in people’s minds. It usually depends on their background or experience, and sometimes it’s an image painted by the media but in most cases here it is painted by the culture of the governmental Catholic Church. We strive to as the Lord leads be the church to the un-reached; those who would normally never enter into a church building. We do this by relying on the power of the Holy Spirit that lives inside of us. Many people here in Spain claim to know the church and promise to never be a part of it and claim that they could never be religious. When they are truly introduced to the church and truly read the Word of God their eyes are opened as we pray for the Holy Spirit to open them. We devote ourselves to help deepen the peoples understanding of what the Church is. We live missional lives led by the Holy Spirit as He leads us to minister to people He chooses for us to minister to. We devote ourselves to evangelistic reaching out to the lost world through the local church. We serve with the local church with the unspeakable joy that only comes from (the joy of our salvation) as not-yet Believers view our lives under a microscope and question where this joy comes from.
-We devote ourselves to loving God with all of our “heart soul mind and strength and to loving our neighbors as we love ourselves.” (Mark 12:29-31) We do this through committing ourselves to the Word of God the Bible, committing ourselves to prayer both private and public, committing ourselves to Biblical teaching, and committing ourselves to fellowship and corporate worship with other believers.
-We devote ourselves to serve in and edify the local church.
-We devote ourselves to caring for others within the church (the body of Christ) as well as caring for others outside of the Body of Christ by meeting their basic needs, praying for them in the name of Jesus, and befriending the friendless.
-We devote ourselves in meeting in small house church groups along with meeting with the larger church body for worship and prayer.
-We devote ourselves to relying on the power of God both in prayers especially as we pray for others who are not-yet Christ followers but also in our own lives as we serve Him and rely upon his provision and protection.
-We devote ourselves to giving generously both to the church, other missionaries, and ministries centered on the great commission to Make disciples, who make disciples, who make disciples…
