Hello everyone!
My name is Caleb Delmarter. I am a 23 year old missionary in Estonia. My work here ranges quite a bit. I help with outreach, youth ministry, worship services, translation, evangelism, and just day-to-day tasks like mowing, building, or anything else that need be done. The town I work in is a tiny one called Aseri. It was once entirely propped up via its ceramics manufacturing plant, but following the fall of the Soviet Union, it turned into pretty much a ghost town. That is until the God Seekers Movement, pastored by Sergei Shydlousky, moved here 7 years ago with a vision of turning Aseri, this run down, half abandoned, post-Soviet little town, into the “Town of Prayer.” After 7 years, the town is far more lively and cleaner and sees visits from missionaries from around the world. And, most importantly, Aseri has seen many of her people and those who have moved here come to true faith in Jesus Christ.
Several years ago I felt a pull on my heart to missions. This pull came in tangent with an inexplicable interest in Eastern Europe, the Russian language, and just the Russian speaking world in general. I now know that this interest was the Holy Spirit guiding me into my calling. I found myself for the first time in Estonia in 2022, right after the war broke out in Ukraine. My first time here consisted a lot of serving with and for Ukrainian refugees and their kids. Since then, I have consistently returned to Estonia to serve and my service has continued to grow into more of a long term calling.
Since my first time here, I have invested much time and energy into learning the culture, the history, and the language. I just graduated from university in December 2025 with dual degrees in History and Russian language, and the skills I gained from these majors play a major role in my effectiveness in the mission field here in Estonia.
I do all sorts of things here in Estonia, but I feel that my primary gift is teaching. I have a heart for learning and then imparting that knowledge onto others, whether it be in an informal, conversation-like setting, in a classroom, or from the pulpit! As I grow in this gifting, I trust the Lord to guide me more precisely into the profession He wants me to be in within my mission field.
