I grew up in a Christian home but never really took it seriously. Until one year. I was living the way I wanted, had just gotten my drivers license and things were looking good. Until I went to sleep that night. I had a dream, I was dead and was in line to be judged, I was terrified as I was living the way I wanted. There was someone in front of me crying out for Jesus. I then see the person being judged at the moment go up in flames and I’ve never been more terrified. I then woke up. I’ve taken everything more seriously since then.
in July of 2024 I went on a missions trip to Prague in the Czech republic with Jesus Revolution. At first I hated it, I got sick and didn’t have all the comforts we have in the U.S. but I’ve seen things in Prague that left me waiting more and waiting to return to Prague. One day we went out and were evangelizing on a street corner. I see someone walk up on crutches and start speaking to someone in our group. I keep talking with who I was talking with at that time and when I finish I see that same man walking away on his own two feet. After that trip I felt called to join Jesus revolution. It didn’t workout that year or the year after.
in 2025 I went on a missions trip to El Salvador. I didn’t want to go, I never wanted to go to El Salvador. I originally wasn’t even going to go on a missions trip. Someone in my church talked to me one evening and I felt called to go on a missions trip. There were a few I was considering going on but El Salvador was not one. It was already past the deadline to sign up. I pray one night “God put me where you want me. Even like Jonah” I then thought what did I just say? But was sure it wouldn’t come back to get me. I then prayed “God I’ll go on the first missions trip you open up”. I was told I should reach out to the person that set up El Salvador. I did and even though it was past deadline it opened up to me and there was only one spot left in my age group. It was meant for me. I didn’t want to go but thought of what I prayed earlier and decided I’ll go. Getting to be the hands and feet of Jesus really left a soft spot on my heart for missions.
while I was down in El Salvador I felt called to eventually return to the Czech Republic. Now I face my biggest challenge yet. Joining Jesus revolution to be a missionary. I’ve tried to do a few things over the years because “ I need to get my life started” but I’ve always been brought back to missions. So I now have two options. Keep running from this calling, or give in and let Jesus have his way.
and I’m done running.
