PAST: My Story
I’m the blessed son of two of the most faithful ministers I know — Jaeho Kim and Jieun Sun. Their example deeply shaped my early understanding of God, though my own journey of faith would take time to unfold.
I was born in Seoul, South Korea, and moved to the United States when I was five. Much of my childhood and teen years were spent moving from city to city, often feeling the weight of loneliness and disconnection. I grew up without a consistent faith community, yet God preserved a longing in me — a deep desire to belong to a godly family and community.
Before I truly encountered the Lord, life felt unstable — like I was being tossed around by the challenges of the world and the lies of the enemy. But when I came face to face with Jesus, everything changed. He marked my heart with a passion for the next generation and called me to preach the Gospel.
Soon after, I was invited to serve as a youth pastor at The Bridge Church in Newbury Park, where I ministered for three years. It was a difficult season of growth — I was new in my walk with Jesus and lacked the support I needed to thrive spiritually. Still, God was at work.
Everything changed when I joined YWAM Ships Kona. On April 7, 2022, Jesus met me in a life-altering way. He touched my heart and gave me a new one. I became a new creation. Just a few days later, on April 13, I was baptized — dying to myself and rising into new life in Christ. That was the moment I knew: my life would be devoted to preaching the Gospel to the next generation, wherever He would send me.
PRESENT: My Mission
Today, I serve full-time with YWAM Tuscany in the beautiful coastal town of Rosignano-Marittimo, just south of Pisa. Our team’s vision is to see the nation of Italy transformed by the Gospel — and we believe that happens through the power of hospitality. As Mark 10:45 says, “The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve” — and we seek to live that out daily.
At our base, life happens around the table. Through shared meals, personal relationships, and intentional discipleship, we reflect the heart of Christ to the people around us.
My role includes leading worship, teaching the Bible, engaging in creative evangelism, and partnering with local Italian churches. Everything we do is rooted in love, service, and relationship.

I believe that missions is not a solo calling — it’s a partnership. As John Piper once said, “Missions exists because worship doesn’t.” And that’s why I’m inviting you to partner with me.
