PAST (about me)

I am a blessed son to two of the most Godly ministers I know in the world; Jaeho Kim and Jieun Sun. I am currently serving as a missionary with Youth With A Mission (Tuscany).

I was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea up until the age of five when I moved to the United States. As a child and teen, I moved from city to city, experiencing a sense of loneliness. Although I grew without a proper faith community, there remained a true hope and desire for Godly community.

Before God revealed Himself to me, I found myself being tossed to and fro by the challenges of life and the enemy. However, when I came face to face with Jesus, everything about my life changed. The LORD placed a burning desire on my heart for the next generation, a call to preach the Gospel to the next generation. Very quickly I was thrown into the world of Christian ministry, as I was called to serve as the youth pastor for The Bridge Church in Newbury Park for three years. This was a rough season for me, as I was struggling to grow in my newfound relationship with Christ. I lacked the community and accountability to flourish in my spirituality.

It wasn’t until I arrived at YWAM Ships Kona that I truly encountered the amazing and life-transforming presence of Jesus. On April 7th of 2022, Jesus touched my heart with his loving hands, molding it into a new heart. I became a new creation. On April 13th of 2022, I was baptized as a sign of my death to self and resurrection in new life. It was then that the Lord gifted me with the heart to engage in a life-long mission to preach the true Gospel to the youth-in the nations.

PRESENT (current ministry)

I am currently on staff with YWAM Tuscany in a beautiful beach town called Castiglioncello/Rosignano-Marittimo, just outside the city of Pisa. The vision of our missions team is to reach the nation of Italy with the Gospel through the culture of hospitality, a value which we believe to be the beating heart of the Gospel. Mark 10:45 informs us that Christ “came not be served, but to serve.” In a similar way, through our culture that we have as a missions base of “life around the table,” we seek to foster the love and discipleship of Christ through the ministry of personal relationships in the nation of Italy. I will continue to serve our team in a variety of ways from leading worship, connecting with local Italian church communities, teaching the Bible, and through evangelism in the arts.

FUTURE (your partnership)

With your spiritual and financial partnership, it would allow me to carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ to many more people in the nation of Italy. As John Piper said, “Missions exists because worship doesn’t,” and I believe it is only through my partnerships in the Gospel with people like yourself that I can carry out my calling in God!

Ultimately, my one and only desire in this life is to live in deep intimacy and communion with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and to see others taste and see of His goodness.
