Hello, welcome here! 

We are so glad you are here and to start off we thought a little introduction would be nice.

We are Felipe and Vanessa Menezes a full-time missionary couple working in the Brazilian Amazon.

I, Vanessa, am Canadian, born and raised in B.C., Canada to Brazilian parents. Felipe is Brazilian born in the south-eastern state on Minas Gerais. In 2017, after I had been living in Brazil for 2 years and finishing High School I decided to go to Bible school at Word of Life Missionary Institute in the Amazon region of Brazil to deepen my faith and have a missions experience. In God´s perfect plan, a couple of states away, Felipe was graduating from University and God was calling him to do the same thing! We ended up meeting in the Amazon and studying in the same class. In the process of learning and growing at Bible school the Lord gave us both the desire to go into ministry full-time. We didn´t know what that would look like for us but soon enough we fell in love and started dating in 2019. In 2021 we got married and we headed into full-time ministry together.

We served at Felipe´s local church as youth and young adults coordenators and are now serving where it all began: in the Amazon! We work with an organization called Word of Life promoting Bible camps and evangelistic events as well as training and mentoring local church leaders in student and young adults ministry. When we were seminary students we went on a trip to the Interior of the Amazon to experience ministry in Riverside villages with another branch of Word of Life called SEARA. We have felt called ever since to be a part of this ministry. Our goal is to move to the interior of the Amazon in 2026 to serve with the boat ministry to reach the Riverside people with the Gospel of Christ!

Since 2023, we have been serving full-time with Word of Life on their campus in northern Brazil, in the Amazon region. Our work focuses on promoting Bible camps and evangelistic events, while also training local leaders.Throughout the year, we organize these initiatives to effectively share the Gospel with young people and support local church leaders and youth ministries, ensuring that new believers are nurtured, discipled, and equipped to reach even more people with the Gospel.

Our goal is to partner with Word of Life’s SEARA branch, located in the heart of the Amazon, which focuses on reaching isolated Riverside villages through evangelism, discipleship, church planting, and providing medical and dental care. We will work with the training front, equipping those who have heard and believed in the Gospel to become leaders in their churches and villages, with the potential to be sent as missionaries and church planters. SEARA has empowered many of these locals to effectively reach their own communities, and we are excited to contribute to this impactful ministry! Our plans are to move there and transition into this new ministry in 2026.
