Hi, we are Greg and Mayra Stravous. We have been married since January 2024, have a 1 year old daughter named Sophia, and live in Lima, Peru.
In Peru, people with disabilities face many challenges physically and socially. Often, they do not have access to proper medical care and equipment, such as a wheelchair. Spiritually, they also have many unmet needs, and churches are often not prepared to properly receive them into their congregations. As a result, many people with disabilities are unreached by the church. Our mission is to bring the gospel to people with disabilities, meet their immediate physical needs, and make disciples of them. We do this primarily through our wheelchair ministry.
We are currently serving in our church Koinonia where we lead a team of volunteers that evangelizes, assembles, and distributes wheelchairs for people that need them. We invite them to our church and offer to visit them in their homes. If they do not have a Bible, we provide one. We do this as a monthly event in our church in Lima. Additionally, we also deliver wheelchairs directly to peoples homes, and travel outside of Lima to distribute wheelchairs in other churches throughout the provinces of Peru. The wheelchairs we distribute come from a Christian non-profit called Free Wheelchair Mission.
We do not request support for our personal expenses. All donations go directly to mission costs such as: wheelchairs costs, transportation of wheelchairs and volunteers, bibles, food for events, etc. We thank you for prayerfully considering supporting our mission to reach people with disabilities for Christ.
