Current Project: Prelude to Genesis 1
I’m a professional dancer and choreographer. Dance for me is an expression of hope through the beauty of movement.
I’m currently producing and choreographing my first full length work, Prelude to Genesis 1, based on a poem of the same name by Bryant Russ. This work speaks into the universal experience of suffering and the questions that follow. Amidst the questions, a paradigm shift emerges: God suffers with us.
CS Lewis wrote, “The conclusion I dread is not, ‘So there’s no God after all,’ but ‘So this is what God’s really like. Deceive yourself no longer.'” I relate to these words, and I’m driven to create for those who do as well. I want my work to invite people to engage God with their questions.
Prelude to Genesis 1 will premiere August 30, 2025 in Kansas City and feature local professional dancers. It will be offered to the public with free admission. Funds raised will be used in this order: dancer pay, venue rental, and choreographer pay. I’m committed to paying my dancers $10/hour.
