Who we are:
We are Hugo and Amy Campbell. We’ve been married since 2011 and are blessed with three beautiful children, Thomas, Hannah, and Matthew. We live in Lima, Peru, and have been serving here our entire married life. We currently attend and serve at Calvary Chapel English Service Lima.
Our journey:
Our hearts have always been to serve. As newlyweds, we jumped right in at Calvary Chapel English Service Lima (CCESL), where Hugo had already been serving as an elder and leader since moving to Peru in 2008. Together, we’ve been involved in missions, hosting, translating, and leading teams to different parts of Peru. We also helped in men’s and women’s fellowship groups, children’s ministry, discipleship, and even the simple but important work of cleaning the church each week.
In 2018, the Lord moved us to a new church, Calvary Lima. During our first year there, we felt called to step back, be still, and let the Lord fill us. It was a season of rest and renewal where God gave us a deeper love for people. At Calvary Lima, Amy led a women’s home fellowship, served in children’s ministry, and lead the bakery team for Calvary Coffee. Hugo lead the prayer team, taught at Calvary Lima Bible Institute, helped lead the men’s fellowship, and for a year and a half was part of a pastoral discipleship group.
In the last two years, God has been calling us to pour more into our community. Saying yes to that has meant saying no to many job opportunities, which has stretched us financially since Hugo is the sole provider and Amy homeschools the children. This past April, a dear friend visited us and reminded us of something the Lord had been whispering all along: “You have been tentmakers for the past 14 years.” That word encouraged us and helped us see how God wants to sustain both our family and the ministry He has called us to.
In November 2025, after much prayer and seeking the Lord, He clearly called us back to Calvary Chapel English Service Lima (CCESL) to continue serving there. This return also came during a new season for the church, as Dante Vivar and his wife Rachel stepped into the role of pastor and pastor’s wife, following Pastor Rick Heilman’s many faithful years of leadership. We are deeply blessed to be serving alongside Dante and Rachel, dear friends of ours for more than 15 years, and we are grateful for the fresh work God is doing in and through CCESL.
Our mission:
We believe our mission is to be like Jesus, to love people, build relationships, and make disciples in the ordinary places where life happens. One of the places we see Jesus doing this again and again is around the table. In Luke’s Gospel alone, there are at least 11 distinct accounts of Jesus sharing meals with people. He spent about 38% of his time sharing meals and 18% preaching. Jesus ate with His disciples, welcomed outsiders, shared meals with tax collectors and sinners, and often used the table as a place to teach, listen, and reveal the love and grace of God.
We believe there is something powerful about sharing a meal with someone. A meal creates space for genuine conversation and allows us to move beyond surface-level relationships. It is possible to attend church week after week and still never really connect with the people sitting around us. That is why the Lord has given us a particular calling toward hospitality, to open our home to newcomers, people who may not yet be connected to a church, and anyone who needs a place where they can feel welcomed and known.
For us, discipleship often begins around the table. Over the past year, opening our home and sharing meals has given us opportunities to build meaningful relationships and walk more closely with people. We want to continue making our home a place where people can share their lives, ask questions, experience Christian community, and hear about Jesus.
Alongside this, Amy has spent the last three years partnering with another missionary mom in Lima to lead a homeschool group for missionary and Peruvian families. What began as a small group has continued to grow, with new missionary families and children joining along the way. The group now meets twice a month with about 18 children, takes monthly field trips, and has hosted two homeschool conferences with the help of mission teams from Florida. The goal is to encourage and support mothers as they navigate the unique challenges and opportunities of homeschooling while building community among missionary and Peruvian families.
In recent months, the Lord has also expanded the way we serve. We have had opportunities to host mission teams, help new missionaries get settled and begin their lives in Lima, teach and prepare emerging leaders, and provide practical and spiritual support to people serving in different churches and ministries. We are grateful for these opportunities and excited to see how God continues to shape this ministry.
Our vision:
Jesus said in Matthew 9:37–38, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”
These words have deeply shaped our vision. The harvest in Peru is great, and we want to be available wherever God calls us to serve. As we have spent time with missionaries, pastors, and ministry leaders, we have seen how much encouragement and support can mean to those who are faithfully serving the Lord. Sometimes a person needs someone to teach them. Sometimes they need practical help. Sometimes they simply need someone to listen, pray, and remind them that they are not alone.
Our vision is to take what God is beginning to do through us in Lima and make ourselves available to workers throughout Peru. We would love to travel to different cities and communities to encourage pastors, missionaries, and ministry leaders, helping strengthen those who are already serving and supporting those who are just beginning.
Whether it means teaching new leaders, helping missionaries get established, serving alongside a ministry, hosting a team, praying with a pastor, or simply sitting around a table and sharing a meal, we want to be faithful with whatever opportunity God gives us.
We are excited about the direction the Lord is leading us. Our desire is simple: to love people well, strengthen those who serve, and make ourselves available to God wherever He chooses to send us.

Give
Your support helps sustain our family and makes ministry possible. It allows us to host meals, take mission trips, provide supplies for the homeschool ministry, meet with people one on one, and pursue the vision the Lord has placed on our hearts for the future.

Serving the Lord as a family is one of the greatest blessings we’ve been given. It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it.
We’re learning that ministry isn’t just something we do, it’s a life we live together. Around the table, in the community, and in the everyday moments, God is shaping our hearts and using even the smallest acts of love.
