About Me
Hello! I’m Hunter Pope, and I have the incredible privilege of serving as the Campus Director for Ignite Movement at Mississippi State University. I recently graduated from MSU myself, and now I get to invest back into the campus and community that were the primary catalysts for my faith in Jesus Christ. College completely changed the trajectory of my life. I walked onto this campus far from God, but through a series of moments only He could have orchestrated, I fully surrendered my life to Jesus and haven’t been the same since. In the years that followed, as I began praying for my campus and growing deeper in my local fellowship here, God grew in me a genuine love for this university, and I started to see MSU not just as a place I was passing through, but as a place God had called me to.
Why Mississippi State University?
MSU has been my home for the past several years, and now I have the opportunity to help other students experience what I did by pioneering and leading Ignite here. The college years are some of the most formative of a person’s life, and my desire is to see students formed first and foremost by Jesus. This mission is personal to me because I am a testimony of how God can use just a few years of college to completely transform a life. My goal is to help students know God intimately, build their lives on Him, and be equipped to make Him known, so they can carry the light of Jesus from this campus into every sphere of society, and even to the nations.
At the end of my senior year of college, I was asking God what to do with this passion I had to reach college students. Then the opportunity to serve as campus director for a new Ignite chapter at MSU arose, and it felt as if the Lord had perfectly equipped me for this position by bringing together my love for this university, the relationships I’d built here, and the calling He’d placed on my life.
Ignite at MSU
Ignite at MSU exists to see the reality of the Kingdom of God come forth at Mississippi State University. Through discipleship, Bible studies, evangelism, and prayer meetings, we want to see students encounter Jesus and grow deeply in their relationship with Him. Our vision isn’t simply to host events, but to cultivate a community of students who know God, make Him known, and carry His presence into every corner of campus.
Partnership
My call to reach the campus of Mississippi State is not possible without the generous prayer and support of other believers. Jesus has beautifully designed the members of His body to be dependent on each other while laboring for the Kingdom of God, so I invite you to partner with what God is doing at Mississippi State by helping me reach my goal of $1,000 in monthly support to fund this ministry and my living expenses. Thank you for your consideration in standing with me to see this generation be transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
