Olá, gente! We are Jd and Brittni Grant, and we serve with Shores of Grace Ministries near the city of Recife, Brazil.
We have been serving on the ground here in Recife with Shores since September of 2017, and we have long-term plans to continue serving here! When we arrived, we were asked to lead our ministry’s outreach to the homeless and drug-addicted children and families in our city center in our outreach called Street Church. While we no longer lead that outreach, we are involved in various aspects of “behind-the-scenes” work with the ministry. Since 2019, we have served as the leaders of our Hospitality Ministry, which encompasses many things like coordinating visitors, volunteers, interns, visiting teams, mentoring potential and confirmed new team members, and much more (essentially the ministry’s HR department). We also help in various other capacities including running sound for worship nights, recording audio and video for staff discipleship and other trainings, managing ministry vehicles, assisting with social media for the ministry (in English), and wherever else we are asked!
We believe that we are called to serve the leadership of Shores of Grace in a long-term format. Regardless of what we’re asked to do, we are all-in and committed to do what is asked of us to the best of our abilities! Whether that looks like loving children on the streets through painting their nails or giving them a cup of water, spending time one-on-one with the girls in our rescue home, running sound for staff discipleship nights, or coordinating a visitor’s trip to our ministry, we just want to be doing what our Father asks of us. We feel like it is such a blessing to be able to serve the wonderful people of Brazil!
For a little personal trivia: We got married in September of 2016 and are parents to two little boys: six year-old Levi and three year-old Elias (Eli)! If that wasn’t enough, we also have an almost eight year-old Rottweiler named Selah that we love dearly. We love our home and our family here in Recife, and we look forward to continuing to serve with them.
