My pastor once shared with me that missionaries can be great evangelists, doctors, teachers and leaders, but writing and communication may not be their greatest areas of strength. And even when they know how important communication is, it can easily get pushed to the bottom of a long list of things that need to be done.
But communication matters.
That’s where I come in.
Hi! My name is Jennifer, and I’m raising support to serve with Outward Heart as a Communications and Storytelling Specialist.
I’ve loved writing since I was a little girl, and when I was a teenager, God gave me a desire to use my gifts in ministry. I wasn’t quite sure what that would look like, but there was a fire in me to do this work that wouldn’t go out. I couldn’t ignore it.
Over the years, I continued to explore where God might want me to use my skills. Then, one quiet night in a library, I believe he began showing me how my love of writing could be used to serve missionaries.
Missionaries and Christian organizations need to stay connected with their supporters, churches, and prayer teams. Those people need to hear what God is doing, understand the needs on the field, and know how they can pray, give, and get involved.
As a missionary myself and a Communications and Storytelling Specialist, I’ll use my 20 years of experience as a writer and communicator to help missionaries tell their stories and communicate with the people who make their ministry possible—giving them more freedom to focus on what God has called them to do. That could look like website content, an email newsletter, brochures and pamphlets, a ghost written book, social media posts, and more.
