For years I wanted to visit Japan simply because I loved the culture, the food, the language, the architecture-pretty much everything about Japan. A few years ago, I started entertaining and praying about the idea of doing missionary work in Japan, but I wasn’t sure if I chose Japan because of their need of the Gospel or my desire to visit Japan. Growing up, whenever I would mention my adoration for Japan or my desire to visit, everyone would ask, “Why Japan?”, and my response would always be, “I’m not sure.”. There wasn’t one specific reason for wanting to visit other than I really appreciated the culture.
In September of 2025, God answered my prayers and gave me the desire of my heart by giving me the opportunity to visit Japan as a tourist. While I was there, I experienced two separate moments where the Holy Spirit moved in me that communicated to me that I was supposed to be in Japan. I began to believe that my love and admiration for Japan was more than for their food, music, or clothes, but more for the people of Japan. I truly had a soft spot for the people of Japan that I believe came from the Lord and He placed them on my heart.
Upon my return to the U.S., I investigated this Awakening Asia School of Ministry (AASM) associated with Awakening Asia/Tokyo and soon applied for the program. I was accepted and am beginning the journey of what I believe to be God’s calling for me in this season of life. While at AASM, I am receiving training in biblical foundations, Christ-like character, pure heart, the prophetic, evangelism, healing and deliverance, and apostolic ministry. Additionally, I am activated in evangelism including weekly outreaches, university campus ministry and mission trips. I am also receiving training and being activated in worship leading, preaching, discipleship, supernatural ministry, leadership, and church planting.
I’m excited to be in this season of ministry!
