Hello, we are Juan Carlos and Mili, and we have two children: Pablo, 15, and Daniela, 12. We would love to share with you what we have been doing over the years in our family ministry, what God is currently doing with us, and what He is showing us He will do in the future.
We are from Peru, we came to know Jesus 20 years ago, and our journey began serving God for many years in our church in Lima. We served in different areas such as audiovisual ministry, children’s ministry, evangelism, etc. We also studied at our church’s Bible institute at the same time, and we learned and received the gift of missions in the classroom. But we were afraid of that new feeling, sensation, fire, and desire in our hearts; it was the Holy Spirit telling us strongly, “Go and make disciples,” and over the following years, we understood what that meant. Finally, in 2011, we decided to take a step of faith and became missionaries, serving in the mountains of our country for a time.
Although the journey was very difficult for us, we returned to Lima in 2012 sad, tired, and discouraged. For three years, we asked God what the next step should be. God answered our prayers and was so faithful that we simply wanted to be obedient to His word, so we began our independent ministry called FCA Mission Peru.
Our calling, as you know, is missions, with the primary goal of encouraging and blessing the Church of God in our country by offering Bible teachings and festivals for children, activities for youth and families, camps, workshops, painting, cleaning, and support for the church in any way it needs. But above all, we focus on teaching, discipling, and encouraging the church to continue trusting in the Lord.
So, at the beginning of our independent ministry in January 2016, we began to pray and seek God’s guidance to carry out the work He had entrusted to us. That year marked our beginning, and everything seemed very difficult, but as we took that first step of faith, we were encouraged and empowered by God through many brothers and sisters in Christ.
God showed us for a long time that we needed to leave the confines of our city, and it all began in a city called Huarmey, five hours north of Lima.
Then God opened the way for us to serve in the rainforest, in the eastern part of our country, in the city of Pucallpa. For several years, we were able to hold youth camps with the goal of encouraging and teaching many young people about purity, identity, and spiritual guidance.
Years later, the Lord sent us to the highlands of Peru, to Cusco, where we were able to serve in several communities such as Phusa, Huassihuaccya, Quishuarani, and others. All of these villages are located more than 12 000 feet altitude in the Peruvian Andes.
The bonds of friendship and relationships we have developed with different brothers and sisters in our country have been one of the most valuable aspects of serving God in this way.
We still maintain contact with some of these churches, and God continues to send us each year to visit these ministries and continue working with them. To our Lord our God be all glory in Christ Jesus.
At the same time, God showed us that we should also serve Him in Lima our capital, and opened the doors to work in an area called Pachacutec in Ventanilla district, a few hours north of where we live in our city
In the most difficult times, like the pandemic, God placed it on our hearts to go out and share the gospel with those most in need in these areas. And in recent years, we have seen the fruit of the Lord in this community. Many have accepted Jesus, and our prayer is to continue working in areas of both physical and spiritual need.
As you well know, God’s faithfulness in our family ministry has been tremendous. We are so grateful to each of our brothers and sisters in Christ for being part of the body of Jesus that God has used for many years, and we trust in the Lord that He continues using His children to support us.
These last two years have been of absolute trust in God, and He has gradually guided us to serve Him in our home, our church. Thus, He has given us the opportunity to serve several brothers and sisters, and my wife and I share a discipleship class each week called “Start Following.”
The Lord has also given us the privilege of training our brothers and sisters and doing missions with our church, thus fulfilling His promise to return home and serve Him with our gifts and talents.
In May of this year, we carried out a very special mission with our church to the city of Chiclayo, on the northern coast of Peru. We served the Lord for a week in three places called Pimentel, San Lorenzo, and Morrope.
We joined this mission to serve our God, with a church that has been serving in these towns for a few years. We have been able to establish a relationship of friendship and fellowship with them, and we have in our hearts the desire to return in God’s time, so we can continue to encourage and edify them as the body of Christ.
Currently, we are praying to the Lord to undertake another mission. This time in the northern mountains of the Peruvian Andes, to a city called Cajamarca, a 17-hour bus ride from Lima. We long to be a blessing to three ministries there, first by helping in a town called San Marcos, located two and a half hours from the main city, where a couple of friends just started a church two months ago. We would like to be a help, support, and blessing to this church and establish a connection that will last for many years.
Also, in another district of the city of Cajamarca called Baños del Inca, there is a church that we would also like to support in the same way as in San Marcos.
And taking advantage of these days, we would also like to be a blessing and help to a ministry that has been dedicated to teaching the Word of God for several years. This place is a Bible institute, and at this time of year, they always need support with construction, painting, cleaning, and other tasks.
Dear brothers and sisters, we are very grateful to you and to our Lord Jesus because our vision and desire to serve God in our country continues and is strengthened by knowing that the return of our Lord Jesus Christ is imminent. We want to be faithful servants and obey His call, according to His Word. Matthew 28:19: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations.”
We are missionaries and are self-funded, but we have also seen God’s hand at work in this ministry, using many brothers and sisters who have faithfully donated and contributed to the work here in Peru.
Many of you know how we have worked year after year since we began our ministry in 2016 until today. God has never ceased to be faithful and is always very generous, and we know that His body is also faithful in various parts of our planet.
Our prayer is that through this platform we may find grace and favor from you so that we can support each other in continuing the work the Lord has prepared for us in our country. We have no doubt that you are faithful to the Lord and that you always keep us in your prayers. Therefore, the mission continues.
