Luke was born and raised in Beijing, China. He and his wife Phoebe, were Buddhists by heritage and Agnostic in reality.
Phoebe opened a Bible and had several strong encounter with Jesus, then she became a Christian in June of 2024, and began sharing the Gospel with Luke. After witnessing her life transformed in such a short time — forgiving her parents, living with peace, and showing love to others — Luke started carefully analyzing the evidence for Christianity. Eventually, He surrendered to Jesus Christ and was baptized together with Phoebe at Awakening Tokyo Church on February 2, 2025.
Even before Luke believed, prophetic words about a big calling was given to them by pastor Esther and other members of the fellowship from Awakening Tokyo. As Luke began building a relationship with God, He felt a growing passion for the nations stirring in his heart each day.
During Awakening Asia’s mission trip to Hong Kong, a sermon from Pastor Esther deeply moved him. It encouraged him to let go of his current business career and pursue training at Awakening Asia School of Ministry. In that message, Pastor Esther spoke about how the Lord asked Moses to throw his staff to the ground. When Moses picked it up again according to the Lord’s command, it became the staff of God (Exodus 4:1–20).
Their calling that was revealed through prophecy, has now confirmed in their hearts: to bring revival to Asia and plant churches that carry a pure Gospel in major cities across East Asia.
They are now being trained at Awakening Asia School of Ministry, supporting in the church services, outreach and mission trips.
