Before I begin my Master’s Graduate School Program in Couseling next year, I have the privilege of being an intern with Open Door Ministries in their 8-Month Nehemiah Leadership Initiative Gap Year Fellowship Program.
Open Door started in urban Denver in 1997 and has the mission of addressing poverty, building communities, and cultivating followers of Christ in Denver. They do this through providing transitional housing, youth programs, leadership development, and outreach programs.
My specific program is the Esther House, one of the Still Water Housing programs. Still Waters Housing is a group of four homes providing safe trasntional housing for women leaving homelessness, addictions, and the sex industry. Esther House is a two-year housing program serving women who are coming out of crisis situations.
From September 2026- May 2027, I will be serving in Esther House with the purpose of providing the tools for healing and community, while women experience the transforming power of God’s grace and love. The program allows women to step out of destructive lifestyles by offering a sober living environment where women can become responsible, contributing members of society.
I will receive hands-on ministry experience, intentional discipleship, leadership development, biblical justice education, and community living opportunities.
As I step into this new role, I am prayerfully looking for people to partner with me financially. Although Open Door pays a portion of my salary, I also have the need to raise additional funds to make this job more financially stable. Below is an opportunity to give.
