My name is Kathryn Malgren and I am from Wisconsin. Since Middle School, I have had a passion for global missions. This year, I felt the calling of God to step out in faith and become a global missionary through Youth With A Mission (YWAM). YWAM is a global outreach program with bases all around the world that share the goal, “To Know God and Make Him Known.”
In June 2025, I graduated from YWAM’s Discipleship Training School (DTS) in Lima, Peru. In October 2025, I went to YWAM Colombia for two months and took the “Making Disciple Makers” Seminar, which trains missionaries to help staff Discipleship Training Schools at YWAM bases. I plan to return to YWAM Cartagena in January to assist with the next DTS.
Youth With A Mission has a rich history in Colombia and has bases in a number of areas such as Medellin, Cali, Cartagena, Valledupar, Bogata, Pereira, and Cucuta. The Cartagena base has 120 staff members who are involved with local ministries and teaching at the YWAM university.
