My name is Matthew Nash. I am a follower of Jesus Christ, a sibling to 5 incredible brothers and sisters, and a son of two wonderful parents. I am a volunteer reporter with the Free Burma Rangers, a frontline ministry and humanitarian organization focused on bringing help, hope, and love to civilians caught in the crossfire of war. My work focuses on human interest stories from the cause within Burma, highlighting local testimonies and investigations into widespread violence and oppression by the SSPC (Burma Army).
The Burma Army has waged a war against its civilian population for over 75 years. Many of these non-combatants are targeted based on their ethnicity and religion, with many civilians killed each week. Free Burma Rangers serve as first responders to this bloody regime, working as humanitarians and chaplains among war-torn communities across the country. Medical intervention, food distribution, and reporting to the outside world are among the organization’s top priorities, all done in the name of Christ, who hates evil and instructs us to set the oppressed free.
My position in FBR’s reporting department is facilitating the weekly feature reports we publish. I work at the FBR Southeast Asia headquarters, and support from my ministry partners goes directly to funding my living and work expenses, in addition to mission-related expenses.
