Hi! My name is Miah Pacheco, and I serve as a missionary with Youth With A Mission (YWAM). God has placed a deep passion in my heart for the nations and for seeing people encounter Jesus in places where the Gospel is not easily accessible.
I joined YWAM about a year ago, and during my time serving overseas, I had the privilege of ministering in remote communities in Papua New Guinea, where we shared the Gospel, distributed Bibles in local languages, and partnered with our medical relief ship. Seeing lives transformed and entire communities encounter the love of Christ ignited an even deeper passion in my heart for the nations. It strengthened my conviction that every tribe and nation deserves the opportunity to hear the Gospel and have access to God’s Word. I am incredibly grateful for the small part God has called me to play in His global mission and excited to continue stepping into the work He is doing among the nations.
In April, I stepped into a new season of long-term ministry by serving on staff with YWAM Ships Kona. We are based in Kona, Hawaii, at the very heart of the Pacific Islands. At our base, we have a heart to train up teams of young missionaries and then lead them on outreaches to remote and isolated nations in the Pacific. As a staff member on our base, I help disciple and mentor students through our DTS (Discipleship Training Schools), lead outreach teams to remote nations, and help train and equip the next generation of missionaries. My heart is to learn how to be a servant leader and raise up leaders who will carry the Gospel to unreached and remote communities around the world.
My vision is to see every nation and tribe encounter the love of Jesus and have access to the Word of God in their own language. I believe God is moving powerfully among the nations, and I am honored to help equip and lead others into the mission He has called us to.
I am currently seeking an additional $1,500 per month in support to cover living and ministry expenses, as I will be doing long-term ministry for the foreseeable future. Serving aboard the Liberty, our medical relief ship in Papua New Guinea, we bring healthcare and the hope of the Gospel to remote islands with little access to either. Alongside providing medical care, we partner with translation teams working to translate the Bible into the mother tongues of local tribes—some for the very first time. On a recent island visit, we were able to distribute hundreds of Bibles. Our mission is to serve both physical and spiritual needs, believing that every nation and tribe should have access to the Word of God in their own language.
