Hi everyone! My name is [Your Name], and I’m currently a full-time missionary with Youth With A Mission (YWAM), based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. I’ve been here on and off for the past year and a half—about eight months total—but I’m now officially two months into my two-year commitment to serve here full-time. I’m stepping into my third year in missions, and it’s been such an incredible journey so far!
My missions journey began in Kona, Hawai‘i, where I completed my Discipleship Training School (DTS)—a six-month program focused on growing in intimacy with God and being equipped to share His love around the world. During my lecture phase, I had the opportunity to move to South Africa, where I witnessed God do incredible things: miracles, healings, and people encountering the love of Jesus in powerful ways.
When I was 14, God told me I would one day live in Hawai‘i, and that came true when I moved there at 18. Even earlier, at just 10 years old, I felt God say I would go to Africa—so getting to serve there during my DTS outreach truly felt like a dream fulfilled.
After DTS, I returned to Kona to complete the School of Worship (SOW)—a training designed to help musicians and creatives use their gifts to glorify God and lead others into His presence. After graduating, I joined the SOW staff team, where I helped disciple students, organize lectures, and lead worship.
During that season, I also spent five months in the Philippines, partnering with a local church and serving in community outreach and ministry. I later joined YWAM Ships, a ministry focused on reaching isolated islands and coastal communities through medical missions and humanitarian aid. We worked to bring both physical healing and the hope of Jesus to those who have limited access to healthcare and the gospel.
After my time in Asia, I returned to Europe to serve with YWAM Amsterdam, where I had the privilege of staffing the very first School of Worship (SOW) in Amsterdam. During that time, our team also traveled to Germany for outreach and ministry—leading worship, sharing testimonies, and seeing God move across borders and cultures.
It was during my earlier season in Kona that I met two amazing friends, and together we formed a band called Birdies. Our vision is to create music that bridges the gap between secular culture and Christianity—writing songs that meet people where they are, acknowledge real pain and questions, and invite God to speak hope and truth.
We were commissioned from Hawai‘i to Europe to continue this mission, and earlier this year, we released our first EP titled “Homesick.” We’re now living in Amsterdam for the next two years to continue writing, recording, and sharing new music.
We’re part of YWAM Music Amsterdam (YMA)—a ministry of 14 staff members all connected by our shared love for Jesus and for music. Together, we lead worship twice a week for our YWAM campus and host Pursuit Nights, monthly gatherings where young people from across the Netherlands come to worship and encounter God. Birdies is one of the bands within YMA, and we’re so excited for all that’s ahead as we continue to create and serve through music.
I’m so expectant for all that God is doing here in Amsterdam and beyond—and for the privilege of saying “yes” to Him in every season!
