Growing up, I heard so many stories about missionaries from my mother and grandparents who had served in Ghana, West Africa. It felt natural to follow the same path. I started by taking a Discipleship Training Course with YWAM (Youth With a Mission). I thought God would give me immediate directions for a permanent mission field.
Funny enough, the lesson He gave me was how to wait, listen, and obey — even when the answers didn’t make sense. Waiting was the hardest part. I returned to the USA and didn’t get my field instructions for years. God never wastes anything, though. All that time He was preparing me for a new mission field.
In 2025 someone directed me to YWAM France, a country I was fascinated with but didn’t realize might be a calling. My first (mildly disastrous) visit was immediately flooded with one confirmation after another. Within a year I sold my home and dropped all career plans for a full-time commitment to the mission field.
My next chapter begins at YWAM Bridges of Life (also known as JEM Ponts de Vie), where our mission is to reach out to the community and share the gospel through hospitality and building relationships, just like the examples of Martha, Zacchaeus and Matthew. Our focus is centered on worship, intercession, discipleship training, and spiritual healing in southern France.
