¿Who is Tonny Tamayo?
The Beginnings · The 1980s
A calling at age 13: Antonio Vinicio Tamayo Cevallos was a rising star in Ecuadorian popular music when a biblical word changed the course of his life: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” — Jeremiah 1:5. From that moment on, the pursuit of fame gave way to a greater purpose: dedicating his musical talent to worship and to proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ.
A Pioneer of Christian Music in Ecuador
He became one of the most influential voices in Christian music in Ecuador. He wisely used popular musical styles—ballads, pop, rap, salsa, merengue, bolero, and Latin pop—as a bridge to the Gospel, placing them at the service of the Kingdom.
Today Pastor and servant.
His training in theology, vocal technique, the arts, liturgy, and worship ministry has fostered a holistic leadership style dedicated to serving the Body of Christ. For over forty years, the Iñaquito Evangelical Church has been his spiritual home. He currently serves there as a pastor, integrating worship, teaching, and pastoral care.
“I work so that people love Jesus, not just the sermons or the songs that speak about Him.” (Tonny T.)
Purpose and Vision
Mission
To guide people toward a living relationship with Jesus Christ and send them out to proclaim the gospel in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Vision
A mature church, filled with the Holy Spirit, living to worship the Father and transform the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Need and the Opportunity
For over four decades, this ministry has faithfully served churches across various denominations. Traditionally, this service was sustained through invitations and offerings from host churches. In recent years, many congregations have focused most of their resources on their own needs, limiting their ability to support itinerant ministries. Tonny is convinced that this challenge also presents an opportunity. With the support of committed individuals, no church will have to go without this ministry due to a lack of resources.
The Solution
We believe God continues to raise up people with vision and generous hearts. Your support will enable Tonny to continue serving—free of charge—churches that would otherwise not have access to this ministry.
The Vision for the Future
The vision is to bring this ministry to all 24 provinces of Ecuador—in partnership with local churches and pastors—through monthly visits over the next five years.
