I was born and raised in the local church in Peru. I gave my life to the Lord at age 16 and began serving as a youth leader and Sunday school teacher, as well as at youth camps. By God’s grace, I have been able to study; I am currently pursuing doctoral studies in theology. For years I have observed many pastors and leaders who have not had access to adequate training, and part of building the kingdom of God must be the preparation of our leaders.
I work as the academic director at the Baptist Theological Centers in Lima, Peru. Our purpose is to provide accessible, contextualized, and Gospel-centered theological training for Spanish-speaking leaders, by the grace of God we currently train more than 550 pastors and leaders from 150 cities around the world represented by 40 evangelical denominations.
It is estimated that between 85 and 90 percent of our leaders do not have formal theological education. In Latin America, access to quality theological training for pastors and leaders is extremely difficult due to a lack of financial resources and time to dedicate to formal studies and training.
