To New Heights…

by | Jan 28, 2016 | Missions Articles

In 2016 Modern Day has several goals they desire to reach. A few of those are as follows…

1. To add 50 new Field Workers
2. Process over 2 million dollars in donations
3. Do three short-term mission trips led by the Modern Day board and staff.
4. To implement a new donor management software that will be a tremendous blessing to our 230 field workers and near 1,000 donors.

However, the real numbers come from the field workers on the ground. Each month we will attempt to bring you the numbers from a handful of our field workers and the lives they are touching on the field. Check out this months below…

4. Many more were healed from physical ailments.

1. Kids cell group with 6 kids
2. Teenage cell group with 10 kids
3. 5-7 house visits per month to the families of these kids
4. They also do special outings with the community once per month and prayer walks.

Luke & Alisan Billman – Brazil

The Billmans fight against human trafficking and prostitution in Brazil. In any given month they have:
1. 30 girls in their rescue/recovery homes
2. 30 street kids they minister to weekly in urban areas
3. 100 people who live in the Favelas (slums) they minister to weekly.

** An awesome thought to keep in mind is that this is just 3 families of the 230 that are currently partnered with Modern Day! That means there is a WHOLE lot of God stuff happening in nearly 50 countries!!

Why is it Important to be Resilient?

The facts are only sometimes representative of reality, and there’s more to the story than we see. It’s powerful when we tune in to that compass bearing, look to God to help us create a complete picture of reality, and not just say, “Truth is whatever my sense is, but Lord, tell me the facts and the greater vantage point.”

Navigating the Pain of Change and Disappointment

That was the order we were given within minutes of discovering our residencies had been denied renewal. The city hall official was not hostile or aggressive, simply delivering orders. I responded that we would “absolutely not be leaving in thirty days.” She mentioned they would send a police officer to our door if we did not comply. I told her she could send the king; I still would not leave after thirty days. That was impossible!
