God’s call led us to join Youth With A Mission Tyler in beautiful east Texas, separately at first. We met during a year of discipleship and evangelism training, then we completed a year long bible school together. It was a long process, but God changed our hearts and minds during this time. We got to know God in greater ways through the study of His word and the influence of Godly leaders. Once married, we felt God calling us back to YWAM Tyler, no longer as students but as staff. As staff at YWAM, we have worked in various job assignments including: Accounting, Admissions, Missionary Training (DTS & SOE), and the Kitchen.  We currently work in the missions for teens department called SST.
Our mission is to disciple, train, and equip young people to fulfill the Great Commission. (Matthew 9:37, Matthew 28:16-20, Colossians 1:28) Currently, we serve YWAM Tyler in the missions for teens program called SST (Summer of Service and Training) The vision of SST is to help high school students establish a lifelong relationship with Jesus and introduce them to world missions.
In the summer–our busiest time of the year–we host two week summer camps. We spend one week in the classroom and one week on outreach. The first week is focused on helping students learn about what the Bible says about God, themselves, and others. This is an amazing time! Students get to know God in a deeper way and align themselves with His intentions for their lives. During the second week of the camp, students participate in a week long outreach. While on outreach, they  apply the things they have learned and experience God’s heart for the world.
Throughout the remainder of the year, our team hosts mission camps in the U.S. and abroad (recently South Korea), we visit churches to serve and speak about missions, we stay connected with the students who participated in our camps, we attend further training, and maintain our training facilities on campus.
We are in the process of multiplying SST within our country and abroad. Though a great challenge, we are believing God to reach 1% of youth culture worldwide, this is 18,000,000 people. We are trusting God to do the impossible as we do the possible (Matthew 19:26).
