In 2014, after retirement, facing death from cancer, I met a Bishop from Malawi, Africa who prayed for me.  Since then, with no signs of cancer, I began to travel regularly to Africa. Curious at first, I became aware that my presence, my assistance, my messages, were all needed and made a difference.

My immediate work is to help a church in Kenya secure a meeting place with worship equipment. Secondly, to get a water well drilled with pumping equipment installed in a high school in Malawi. Currently, they spend the day without a way to wash their hands before eating or after using the latrine.

Good friends in Rochester NY, where I live, have told me to ditch my pride – that I can’t do it all myself, fund it all, and help the people in Africa by myself. I need help with donations to assist in the costs of the work being done. I am pleased Modern Day Missions here in the USA has agreed to handle all the financial aspects of my work in Africa as a registered not-for-profit 501-C3 organization that provides tax receipts to USA donors.

Malawi
This country in the southeast part of Africa is a long narrow country with no know natural resources. One of the poorest nations in the world, it exists in trading tobacco, coffee and tropical freshwater fish. More than 20 languages are spoken here. English is taught in the government schools for families able to pay the fees. Poverty is everywhere. Children are found orphaned through parental abandonment, or death from HIV and Aids. Average lifespans are short. Proud people with very real needs.
