Modern Day Welcomes Anne Marie Grana – Peru

by | May 29, 2010 | Missions Articles

Anne Marie Grana is the director of a ministry based in Lima, Perú called Misión Maná. This ministry is working with and assiting children in extreme poverty by bringing them food and clothes. The name Misión Maná is based on John 6:35,37 which says “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who beleives in me will never be thirsty…All that the Father gives me will come to me. And whoever comes to me I will never drive away”. This is Anne Marie’s heart and the heart of her Mission. Her vision in the next years is to leave Jesus footprints in each area they minister. We want to do this through the creation of orphanages for abandoned children and by making refuges for women in extreem situations. They are also very involved with teaching them values and principles based on the word of God. They also teach Biblical courses to their mothers so that they can continue to train up their children for years down the road.

It’s powerful when we tune in to that compass bearing, look to God to help us create a complete picture of reality, and not just say, “Truth is whatever my sense is, but Lord, tell me the facts and the greater vantage point.”

That was the order we were given within minutes of discovering our residencies had been denied renewal. The city hall official was not hostile or aggressive, simply delivering orders. I responded that we would “absolutely not be leaving in thirty days.” She mentioned they would send a police officer to our door if we did not comply. I told her she could send the king; I still would not leave after thirty days. That was impossible!
