Welcome to my Modern Day Missions page. It is my prayer that this page gives you an opportunity to contribute to the great commission our Lord Jesus Christ has given us all by walking alongside local churches in the unreached parts of Ethiopia and beyond.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20
My name is Brother Assefa, I am the founder and national Director of Wonderful Gift Ministries. I am married to a beautiful wife Deborah. We have three children, daughter Hasset (Joy), son Boaz and little daughter Abigail. I invite you to walk alongside us in training, mobilizing, and increasing local churches’ going commitment.
It is a fact that the task of reaching out to the unreached people with the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ is left to few missionaries while the whole church of God is mandated to go and make disciples of all nations. (Matthew 28:19-20) How can we reach the ever-growing unreached peoples of the world with insignificant going commitment of believers? Less than 3% of believers are engaged in an intentional evangelism. As a result, very few new disciples are added to churches. It takes the whole church to reach the whole community and the whole world at large.
Our vision is to see the whole church, with the whole gospel transforming the whole community. Walking Alongside Churches (WAC) is a one-year mission project in which we walk alongside local churches in both rural and urban areas to enable them to become missionary churches. Currently we are walking alongside 98+ local churches in 14 clusters in 9 locations in Ethiopia.
