We were both already believers in Jesus when we met.  Much of our relationship was formed in long prayer and worship times with our friends, which led to us getting married in 1999.  During the early years of our marriage, we would host small group prayer meetings in our home and organize and lead larger prayer meetings in our church building.  Sometimes it would be an all night prayer meeting, and other times we would be exalting Jesus and praying for our city during large city events.  Connecting with Jesus through prayer was our life blood.

Our love for prayer and worship naturally led us to the International House of Prayer in Kansas City and its prayer room with 24/7 prayer with worship.  After visiting IHOPKC several times and attending some conferences, we decided to do an internship in 2005.  From there we transitioned to joining the staff.  As Intercessory Missionaries, we spend several hours each week in the Global Prayer Room encountering Jesus by praying, studying the scriptures, and through doing hands-on ministry.

As believers we’ve seen the Lord move in physical healing and prophecy through our lives, so these are the two areas of ministry we’ve spent most of our time in.  We’ve trained people in small groups, classrooms, internships, and conferences to begin ministering and growing in these gifts.

The heart of Jesus is for His people to know Him more.  And we only produce fruit in our lives as we stay connected to Him (John 15:4-5).  James 4:8 tells us, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”  This is our heart as intercessory missionaries.  We desire to draw near to God and stay connected to Him so that we can bear fruit.  We pray that fruit will then provoke others to draw near to Jesus and experience Him in a deeper way.
