Who I Am
Welcome, dear friend!
My name is Mr. Heaven Thawng Tha Bik, and I am the co-founder of Elroi Seven Ministry. For the past ten years, my wife and I have been serving the Lord in Thailand, starting as house parents at a children’s home and later as educators. I’ve spent eight years teaching at both Thai and international Christian schools, most recently at Chiang Rai International Christian School (CRICS), where my passion for Christ-centered education deepened.
Throughout this journey, I’ve come to see education as more than academic instruction. It’s a God-given tool for shaping hearts, instilling purpose, and building a generation that leads with compassion and conviction. As a father to two wonderful children—Samuel and Grace—I understand the urgency and importance of nurturing young lives with truth and love.
But the Lord placed a deeper calling on my heart: to step away from my teaching position and fully dedicate myself to Elroi Seven Ministry, which I co-founded with my friend Mrs. Arlene Thienpont.
“El Roi” means “the God who sees.” It’s the name Hagar gave God when she felt abandoned and invisible. That name reminds us that God sees every child, every village, and every broken heart. The number Seven reflects the spiritual significance of God’s completeness and favor, which has continually guided us.
Our Mission and Vision
Elroi Seven Ministry exists to nurture and equip vulnerable children through biblical truth, quality education, and family connection—so they can grow in character, discover their purpose, and become a light to their communities.
Our mission has already begun. We have welcomed three children—Lawdeh, Auk, and Aame—from a remote village once known as Akha Clinic Village. Our goal is to care for five children this year.
These children attend Thai school during the day. In the evenings, we teach them English, Math, and most importantly—the Word of God. They remain connected to their families and return to their village regularly. We believe this connection to home is essential—not only for the children’s well-being but also as a bridge to share the Gospel in their community.
Our vision is to raise up a generation of young people across Myanmar who are rooted in Christ, strong in character, skilled in life, and bold in leadership—bringing transformation to their families, their villages, and their nation. One day, we hope to open Elroi Seven Christian School—a Christ-centered, affordable school in Mae Sai (Thailand) or Tachileik (Myanmar).
A Ministry of Family and Community
At Elroi Seven, our focus extends beyond the children. We believe in family restoration and community transformation. That’s why our ministry reaches into the homes and hearts of those connected to the children we serve.
To help sustain the ministry, we’ve also welcomed five boarding students who pay a small fee. Our goal is to grow this number to ten students in the coming year.
Daycare Outreach
In September 2023, my wife and I launched a small daycare center in Mae Sai to support local families while helping to provide for our own. Through God’s grace, we now care for five children during the week and host around 15 more on Saturdays—many of whom come from unreached families.
Our prayer is that through Bible stories, songs, and love, these young hearts will come to know Jesus. We pray their first encounter with the love of Christ will set them on a lifelong journey of faith.
