Jim and Mary have been married 35 years. Jim has worked as a forester for the State of Vermont and Mary is a registered nurse at the local hospital. They met when they both worked in full time youth ministry and then as a family, they ran an agricultural mission in Texas. They have three grown children and three grandchildren with two on the way. With Jim’s retirement they plan to serve using their interest in Agriculture and Nursing.
They will be working with an NGO that partners with local communities to promote community health, food security and better nutrition. This cooperative effort provides education about proper nutrition, disease prevention, women’s health and improved gardening. A gardening and feeding program in schools helps children and pregnant or lactating mothers to get healthy meals. Innovative agricultural techniques are being introduced. Jim and Mary love Jesus and will endeavor to be light in a dark place, sharing about Jesus within personal relationships that they develop.
