My name is Jessica Owens. I left homosexuality because I had an encounter with His presence that changed everything.
I had a radical encounter with the Lord in October of 2012, in which I was set free from a six and half year lifestyle of homosexuality. Immediately I began to experience a relationship with the Holy Spirit that transformed my life forever. Jesus became the one thing I longed for and as I sought Him I found He was the one thing I had been seeking all along. He began to fill every desire and heal every wound. Through radical surrender to Him and following His leadership I found deeper healing in healthy community amongst the body of Christ. With mentors that discipled me and championed who I was as a new creation in Him. Today, same sex attraction no longer effects my life. I experience peace and joy that comes from healthy relationships with men and women.
Since my encounter I felt a call to help others that experience unwanted same sex attraction and to see the body of Christ empowered to love those that have this experience. In feeling this call to full time ministry and a desire to seek Him for the next step in my life, I moved to Redding, CA in 2018 to attend Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry located at Bethel Church. With this passion to help others, I was able to connect with Elizabeth Woning the co-founder of Equipped to Love (www.equippedtolove.com) and CHANGED Movement (www.changedmovement.com) located at Bethel Church. In my third and final year of BSSM I had the privilege to serve Elizabeth Woning, ETL, and the CHANGED Movement. Upon graduating in May 2021, I felt called to stay in Redding and serve Elizabeth and transitioned into being her personal assistant. I served in this role from May 2021 December 2022.
In January 2023 I became a licensed Pastor by Bethel Church and now operate as the Associate Director of Pastoral Care for CHANGED Movement. I have the honor of providing pastoral care and discipleship to those that experience unwanted same sex attraction. I assist in training and equipping christian leaders, pastors, and churches across the United States and globally.
In all I do I burn to see others experience an intimate relationship with Jesus, to know their identity in Him, and to enjoy healthy relationships. When a heart is fully captivated by Jesus anything is possible!
