Over the past 14 years of working with Youth With A Mission, Josh and Ruth have ministered in 42 different countries, have intensively trained over 900 new missionaries in their discipleship programs and ministries, and are the proud parents of three beautiful kids.Currently they are based out of Birmingham, AL where they are helping lead the development of YWAM Ascend’s training and sending center. Working in training, communications and mobilization they are laser focused on seeing Awakening & Restoration for a generation in America, as well as planting churches among the 3.1 billion Unreached Muslims, Hindus, and Buddhists within the 10/40 Window.

We have identified seven strategic regions of the world that are key to the expansion of the Kingdom and completion of the Great Commission in this generation. All but one region is focused on the 3.1 billion Unreached Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, and Tribal People who do not have access to the saving message of Jesus Christ.
China The most populous nation on earth and potentially the next global superpower. The world would be a better place if China becomes Christianized while it continues to rise in global power and influence. China is currently seeing explosive growth in the underground church, however, aggressive governmental persecution threatens long-term missions access.
Central Asia Countries ending with -stan & Azerbaijan Throughout history Central Asia has been the crossroads of major civilizations as it was once the heart of the ancient Silk Road. Now China, Russia and Terrorists are vying for control of the region. There has never been a more critical time for missionaries to plant The Church among these 71 million Unreached Muslim People.
Europe The heart of Christianity for over a millennium, Europe is a cultural and economic powerhouse with the ability to bless the nations. After decades of secularization and Muslim immigration, the rechristianization of Europe is necessary to release missionaries and resources to the last 7,000 Unreached People Groups of the world.
Iran Head of the minority Shia branch of Islam, Iran’s radical religious regime is a major cause of regional tensions and world terrorism. Internally, this extremism has caused much of the young people to rebel against Islam and embrace Western culture. This dynamic has produced an open door for the gospel and unprecedented numbers of salvations.
Middle East An economic force to be reckoned with due to its oil, the Middle East is rife with tensions. The birthplace of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, this region has a long history of war and strife which only the Gospel of Peace can heal. While Christianity is being systematically eradicated by radical Islamists, the church has seen incredible moves of God, but this region is in desperate need more workers.
Northern India & the Himalayas North India, Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet With the largest concentration of Unreached People Groups in the world and the lowest number of missionaries per capita, Northern India and the Himalayas are in dire spiritual need. The birthplace of Hinduism and Buddhism, this region is currently experiencing shifting political winds which may soon close the window of opportunity for the Gospel.
Sahel Region of Africa The corridor across Africa where the Islamic North meets the Christian South, the Sahel Belt is the spiritual tipping point of the continent. We must strengthen the church on this frontline in order to preserve Christianity in the South and give it time to mature and send its own mission force.
