We are in the middle of a crisis. War is being waged against our future. The generational gap is wider than ever, which is preventing our youth from being able to glean from those that love them the most, their families. Young adults have lost their foundational understanding of who they are, and our children and grandchildren are now considered the ‘unreached people group’ of our day in America. Many have never heard the Gospel message or experienced the healing love of Jesus Christ. Just as Jesus instructed his disciples to do, our mission team is always looking for ways to bring hope and share the gospel with the next generation. Rod and Paula are the hosts of the GenTalk podcast, Directors of the Guys Collective and field workers with Modern Day Global Missions. They work with a team of young leaders that are strong in their faith and bring many special talents to this vision. They share combined experience in church planting, mentoring, teaching, pastoring, and coaching. They have been married for 34 years, are the parents of 11 children, and have 3 grandchildren.
THE WORLD HAS CHANGED DRASTICALLY AND OUR MISSION STRATEGY IS CHANGING WITH IT
We now live in a digital age and our children and grandchildren are bombarded by a plethora of voices. Most of those voices are bent on driving a wedge between the generations but we are determined to be a voice of healing, restoration and hope. We’ve spent the last 15 plus years focused on discipling young adults and believe God is leading us to bridge the gap and repair the breech the enemy has fought hard to achieve. (Is. 58:12) Since the younger generations spend a majority of their time engaged with the digital world, we are moving our mission focus to that arena to contend for their hearts and minds. We believe what the enemy will use for evil, God will use for good.
GenTalk Podcast
We have a two-fold mission. First, to minister to families. We currently host the GenTalk podcast focused on Generations X, Y, and Z. We discuss how to connect, build or rebuild relationships, and how that impacts our families, our purpose, and our faith. Our hope is to help others avoid generational regrets and create stronger, healthier relationships at every age. GenTalk podcasts are located on our website at www.gentalk.xyz
Guys Collective App
Second, we are the directors of the Guys Collective. GC is a growing mission team and online community that provides practical guidance for older teens and 20’s. We mentor with positive instruction, growth tracts, and coaching to build meaningful connections and establish solid direction. Guys Collective allows us to present the gospel, make disciples, and teach biblical truths that prepare young men for life. Through it, we encourage them to develop personal growth and establish good life direction through online communities, growth tracks, and a coaching. The nine areas of focus within the growth tracks are faith, relationships, money management, decision making, focus, manhood/fatherhood, health, leadership, and business. We truly believe as we succeed in helping the next generation of young men in these areas we will see healthier men, leaders, and fathers that will impact the world around them.
