Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful,  committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.

Aloha and Mahalo for being here. We are the Sheplers: Greg, Caroline and Ellis.

We work full time with the University of the Nations on the Big Island of Hawaii. Our call is to reach people in the isolated islands of Melanesia and Micronesia. With a focus on community development we train disciples who will carry the love, power and might of Jesus with them wherever they go. Additionally we train them in how to have staying power in the countries they go. This means we train our students with practical life skills required for living in remote areas. We focus on four main categories: Water+Sanitation, Food, Energy and Safe Shelters. These topics are all held together with the best practices of community development so that wherever our disciples go, they can come in low, serve in practical and meaningful ways, while seizing opportunities to demonstrate the incarnation power of Jesus.

When you support us it allows us to not only stay here training disciples who are going to the nations, but it permits us to continue with our international consulting. We are often approached by village leaders, YWAM bases, churches, etc. who want to learn more about a Theology of the Land/Farming Gods Way. Our team is equipped and willing to go and train indigenous leaders to follow Gods command in Genesis to tend to the land. The result is often a more robust community who love Jesus, take ownership, and take the initiative to better their lives.
