European Authority

Europe holds a special place in human history of battlefields. We are able to recall and easily remember the famous encounters of WW1 & WW2. The engagements of the historical world powers converging on the European continent are still so fresh and relevant for discussion and analysis. In high school, I remember studying these bloody and fatal conflicts in world history. Graduating on into university, and still with a fascination of conflict within the European landscape, I encountered another aspect of the battle…the battle within the mind.

Going back thousands of years, you can read about natural conflicts between physical armies in Europe. You will also be able to find, in addition to natural conflicts, philosophers, dictators, church leaders, and most recently noted would be the modern psychologists, all of which, have made a significant impression in the struggle with the minds of men.

Paul tells us in Ephesians; the war believers face is not a war of flesh and blood but of another realm, a spiritual kind. This means that the implications are far greater than just a natural death. It’s true that Europe is a western civilization. They are not in the same sphere of need as other nations on the globe in regards to humanitarian aid. However, a battle rages on. Europe, as a whole, has put down the full armor of God and now the mind is completely exposed. What this means is that salvation is at stake. It has infiltrated the most sacred parts of even the fellowship of the believers. What you have now is authority being the centerpiece of desire and the true God of wisdom has now been relegated as a means for a particular end.

I recall the report that Caleb and Joshua brought back to Moses and the congregation concerning a promise that God had made for the Promised Land. They had a different story because they carried a different spirit. The ending we read about in God’s word is not fairy-tale, every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess.

Europe needs laborers

Europe needs prayer for the current laborers already in place

Europe needs leadership to return to a complete focus of God’s Kingdom

Europe needs authority and prestige to return to its rightful place, at the feet of Jesus

Why is it Important to be Resilient?

The facts are only sometimes representative of reality, and there’s more to the story than we see. It’s powerful when we tune in to that compass bearing, look to God to help us create a complete picture of reality, and not just say, “Truth is whatever my sense is, but Lord, tell me the facts and the greater vantage point.”

Navigating the Pain of Change and Disappointment

That was the order we were given within minutes of discovering our residencies had been denied renewal. The city hall official was not hostile or aggressive, simply delivering orders. I responded that we would “absolutely not be leaving in thirty days.” She mentioned they would send a police officer to our door if we did not comply. I told her she could send the king; I still would not leave after thirty days. That was impossible!
