It is important in our lives to always be sensitive to what the Holy Spirit may be prompting us to do. At any moment we could be led to do or say something that could have a serious impact and potentially change someone’s life forever. When we dedicate our lives to following His voice and to saying yes to Him rather than to ourselves, not only do we find more fulfillment in our personal lives, but we also allow Him to give us opportunities to help advance His kingdom.
When I say yes to the Holy Spirit every day, I see him do incredible things in me and through me.
One afternoon in particular, I felt the Holy Spirit leading me out of my home for a walk. As I was crossing a street near my house, I came upon a man suffering from an epileptic attack convulsing on the ground and rolling in front of the footpath. Immediately, I approached the man and laid my hands on him, rebuking this attack and commanding the sickness to leave him in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
As soon as the man began to open his eyes tears came gushing from them. The Holy Spirit had touched this man. He came to his senses, his strength was restored, and he was healed! As I talked to him, he told me about his battle with epilepsy and that he had run out of medication. I told him that it was Jesus Christ who had healed him, without the use of his medicine, and that his epilepsy would not touch him again!
A few minutes later as the man began to stand up and walk, he noticed a severe pain in his right knee, probably from the spill he took when he had the attack. Right away I prayed for his knee in the name of Jesus, and this man was able to walk away completely healed and whole. I proclaimed Jesus Christ to him and blessed him, making sure he knew it was Jesus who had healed him. Praise God!
As I began my walk back home, I reflected on my afternoon. Had I ignored that direction from the Holy Spirit, that simple instruction just to take a walk, who knows what may have happened to that man. I may have had my own plans, but God had a greater plan. The greatest and most influential days we have are the days that we allow God to lead us.
