Huge Year for Modern Day!!

by | Dec 11, 2014 | Missions Articles

Dear Friend of Modern Day,

As 2014 comes to a close, God’s goodness towards Modern Day and our growing family of field workers overwhelms me. Over the past year, Modern Day has added 47 new field workers bringing our total to 164 field workers serving in 37 countries around the world! Thank you for making a difference!

As the number of field workers continues to grow, so have our donations. So far this year we have already raised $1.3 million that represents a 41% growth over 2013.  Since our inception, Modern Day has raised over $3,500,000 for missions both in America and across the world. Each dollar represents a seed sown in the 37 nations that through faith will yield a harvest of righteousness!

As you consider your year-end giving, I would ask that you prayerfully consider making a gift to your favorite field worker? Perhaps, you are making plans for your 2015 giving. Would you prayerfully consider making a monthly donation? Your gifts are greatly appreciated and they are making a difference.

As the year winds down, I would like to share the top articles on our website from this past year. Each of them shares a burden that is important to the Modern Day family. Nursing Mom is a story of the oppressed street prostitutes being ministered to in Brazil. The Good News in Wal-Mart reminds us that each of us can be a missionary right where we live. Finally, Advocates of Adoption shares the journey of one of our field workers making a difference here in America.

I am so grateful for your prayers and financial support for the Modern Day field workers.  Without support from people like you, it would be impossible for them to reach this lost and hurting world. Please keep visiting our website (www.modernday.org) as we keep sharing stories and testimonies from the harvest field.

May the Lord continue to bless you in all that you do! Merry Christmas!

Why is it Important to be Resilient?

The facts are only sometimes representative of reality, and there’s more to the story than we see. It’s powerful when we tune in to that compass bearing, look to God to help us create a complete picture of reality, and not just say, “Truth is whatever my sense is, but Lord, tell me the facts and the greater vantage point.”

Navigating the Pain of Change and Disappointment

That was the order we were given within minutes of discovering our residencies had been denied renewal. The city hall official was not hostile or aggressive, simply delivering orders. I responded that we would “absolutely not be leaving in thirty days.” She mentioned they would send a police officer to our door if we did not comply. I told her she could send the king; I still would not leave after thirty days. That was impossible!
